Preventing ticks, fleas outbreak

By RICHARD MURRIHY

EVEN though winter is a quiet time for fleas and ticks, the critters are still active with cases of tick and flea outbreaks still possible.
Fleas and ticks are hitchikers and are slower now with the reduced movement of marsupial animals and of course less humidity, but family pets still need to be treated to prevent outbreaks or tick bites.
Nexgard is the newest product on the market and offers a new delivery method as a chewable treat rather than a topical treatment.
Nexgard is an adulticide killer of flea and ticks and has been tested as safe for use on puppies from eight weeks that are heavier than 2kg.
As a chew treat, Nexgard won’t wash off if your pet is a swimmer, and offers one month protection meaning a six pack will last six months.
Remember ticks and fleas don’t go on holidays, they just slow down during winter.
Nexgard is available from Pet Stock Noosa, 10 Eenie Creek Road, Noosaville. Phone 5440 5102.
