Ballerina ‘impressed’

By HOLLIE HARRIS

WORLD-ACCLAIMED ballerina Miko Fogarty recently flew in for a four-day Australian tour by hosting a Classical Ballet Masterclass at Peregian Springs.
Nineteen-year-old Fogarty only visited three studios on her Australian tour last week and The Dance Centre Peregian Springs was one of them.
Dance Desire co-ordinator Lauren Nairne toured with Fogarty on her first visit to Australia and said organisers chose very special centres which were “aligned with Miko’s values and career focus”.
Fogarty currently stands in an artist position with The Birmingham Royal Ballet.
With 220,000 followers on Instagram, she is listed as one of the most influential people of 2011.
However, Ms Nairne said the ballerina remains “a humble young lady who is focused on the kids’ futures and really wants to build up the next generation of dancers with that attitude of hard work can get you there”.
After flying in from Kuala Lumpur early in the morning, the ambassador for dance wear company Ainsliewear headed straight into her Classical Ballet Masterclass at Peregian Springs to teach 15 excited proteges.
“I am so impressed with their skill level,” Fogarty said of the class. She said the centre is giving the highest quality tuition, support and guidance to its students.
Up-and-coming dancer Talena Cleyn said: “I’m so inspired. Miko was awesome and she has helped us believe that anything is possible if we work hard enough.”
Fogarty followed with another class in Brisbane before flying out to Japan to continue her tour.
