THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD Cooroy footballer Francis Thinee has been selected for the central “Crows” team to play in the state finals at Toowoomba.
The Noosa District High School student has achieved the highest level you can achieve as an under-13 and was the only Noosa Pirate from any age group to make the selection.
“I’m feeling really good about being chosen,” Francis said.
“The training is seven days a week, so it’s pretty full-on, but I’m really happy,” he said.
Francis plays club football for Noosa Pirates who get selected for two representative sides, Falcons and Crows.
As he gets older, there is fourth selection from the Crows carnival which would be the Queensland side.
He will have to wait until he turns 15 to take his football to the next level, which he already has firmly in his sights.
“I’m hoping to get selected for Melbourne Storm. That’s the plan,” he said.
