IT’S that time of the year again when you grab a rug, pack a picnic and get down to the Peregian Beach Surf Club for a day of live, local music at the Peregian Originals.
The free community concerts come alive in spring with sunny weather providing the perfect backdrop for a family day out.
The next Peregian Originals concert is this Sunday, 12 October, from 1pm at the park in front of the Peregian Beach Surf Club and will feature four acts all seasoned with a hint of ska, reggae and funk.
Fresh from their European tour, local act Dubarray will headline the concert and launch their new album, Visions Collide. Be the first to hear their new electro, funk, and trip-hop tunes as they tear up the stage with their signature shows that are guaranteed to make the crowd want to dance.
Dubarray will be joined by Brisbane-based The Mouldy Lovers; an eight-piece band who delivers gypsy-influenced ska music blended with a bit of punk and reggae.
The impressive Gold Coast-based duo Lani and Lecia will also play on Sunday, treating the crowd to their beat-boxing, live looping, mouth trumpet, and shredding electric guitar skills.
The six-piece Sunny Coast Rude Boys outfit will also make an appearance with their ska, reggae influenced tunes that will keep the crowd rocking right into the early evening.
Peregian Originals is a free community concert, but bring along a few gold coins to help support the event through raffle draws and donations.
