O’Brien hits the road

By Hollie Harris

FAIRFAX MP Ted O’Brien wants people to talk to him about the year ahead as he embarks on his Summer Road Trip listening tour of the electorate.
Mr O’Brien will take his mobile office to Eumundi this month, upholding his election promise to give a voice to constituents ignored for years by Clive Palmer.
The Federal MP says now is the perfect time for residents to consider what they would like to see achieved in 2017 or any problems and concerns they need help with.
“I want people to come up and talk to me about all and sundry because I’m here to help,” said Mr O’Brien.
“I think a lot of people who need help don’t get help because often they don’t ask for it, and so I want to make it easier for people by going to them and being accessible.”
Mr O’Brien said he was starting the year with optimism and an enormous amount of energy to ensure projects promised last year come to fruition and create jobs for locals.
“We had tremendous success in 2016 with securing commitments for the region – major projects including the Bruce Highway and Sunshine Coast Airport upgrades and the ongoing local rollout of the NBN,” he said.
“This has to be the year where the sods get turned. I want to ensure that this is the year of delivery.”
Residents are encouraged to visit Ted O’Brien in Eumundi on Wednesday, January 18 at the Eumundi Markets from 9am to 10.30am.
