Originals and the best

By Hollie Harris

SUMMER is fast approaching and things are hotting up fast on the Sunshine Coast as the Originals Music Festival prepares to charge into Coolum this November.
Armed with six ARIA awards, six top 10 albums and the highest selling Australian single of the 1990s, Prisoner Of Society, Originals Music Festival goers can expect to be blown away by The Living End headlining the event.
The Living End is classic Aussie rock and the performance at the AFL grand final last weekend showed it is, without doubt, still one of the best live acts in Australia.
The Originals Music Festival line-up is jam packed with fresh new talent too. Three acts on the Original Music Festival line-up have recently dropped new releases and each of these hot acts are getting a tonne of airplay on national broadcaster Triple J.
Originals Music Festival co-organiser Mark Pico said the Thundamentals new track, Never Say Never, was the second most played track of the week.
‘’We couldn’t be happier with the mix of great music for this year’s line-up,” he said.
“The Thundamentals’ new track is on red hot high rotation on the J’s and Remi and The Belligerents aren’t far behind, both landing in the top 20.
“Even locals Sahara Beck and Pop Cult have come out with killer releases which have gained good airplay on the J’s.”
Festival goers are in for a real treat this year as there will be free rides for all festival goers of all ages all day.
“We are excited about the fun stuff like Dodgem Cars, as well as live art installations, hula hoop classes and lot’s more surprises,” Mark said.
The event has sold out two years in a row – full festival details and line-up at www.originalsmusicfestival.com.au
Originals music festival is at Coolum Beach, Saturday 5 November. Tickets are available online at www.originals musicfestival.com.au. This is an all ages festival and adult tickets are currently $60, youth are $45 and 12 years and under is free.
