Walsh’s racing round

MISS Moneypenny’s owner turned race car driver Ben Walsh has secured a solid start to his championship campaign finishing fourth overall in the first round of the Aussie Racing Car Championship.
Aussie Racing Cars is Australia’s largest motor racing category with 42 supercars entered on the weekend. In blistering heat, Mr Walsh ran in the top four all weekend in one of the strongest fields seen in many years.
Mr Walsh was held back after starting in 34th position and being involved in a slower cars accident which saw him go all the way to the rear of the field but still managed to finish the lap in record time.
Mr Walsh said he was happy with the results and was looking forward to the next round.
“Myself and the team are extremely pleased with the outcome of the weekend being so competitive and fast at a circuit I’ve never been to before, in extremely demanding conditions,” Mr Walsh said.
“This gives us great confidence for the rest of the championship and now we are really looking forward to the next round at Phillip Island in April which is a circuit that I have been extremely competitive at before.”
