POMONA BOWLS
A GREAT weekend was enjoyed by all when we hosted a visit from Burnett Bowls Club. And what a great bunch of people they were.
Saturday afternoon game had the points at Pomona 146 v Burnett 136. Unfortunately, the tide turned on the Sunday morning game with Burnett coming up trumps and defeating Pomona by two points. A big thank you to all the Pomona players who helped make this such an excellent weekend. We look forward to a return match in 2016.
Ladies Results: Ladies A Grade final was played on Wednesday between Tina Camp and Veronis O’Connor. With Tina defending her win in 2014, it was a great game to watch with some excellent shots by both ladies. Although it was a close encounter, final congratulations to Tina on her great win and her back-to-back double as our A Champion.
Unfortunately, the Thursday men’s game is not enticing players so if you have a spare Thursday please consider to put your name down. This is a great day to practice your shots and hone up your skills particularly with pennants coming up.
Friday twilight bowls saw a good number on the green. Our bowlers don’t seem to mind the cooler weather and there was plenty of “bopping around” to the music supplied by Rick.
Winners on the evening were the triples team of Julanne Brown, Glenn Patterson and skip Norm Walmsley (just back from a three-week holiday). Runners-up were Ruth Kelliher and Iris Quinn. The jackpot was won and shared by triples team of Gary Cornell, Kerry White and Linda McDougall.
The men’s B Grade singles have commenced and first round game results so far are – Russell Murray d Gary Cornell; Rick Goulding d Glenn Patterson. The first round game between John Davies and Chris Wilson will be played this coming week. Second round – Daryl Millar d Russell Murray. Jim Farr and Bob Andrews both had a bye and progressed immediately to the second round.

COOROY BOWLS
THIS week’s results are as follows:
Tuesday jackpot pairs: Bevan Mahoney and John Langdale. Runners-up were Garry Mitchell and John Ison.
Wednesday Business Bowlers: With full greens, fun was had by all and all were vying for top spot, with only two weeks to go. Sorry do not have the results this week. This is the last week.
Thursday triples: Bushrangers d Galahs 12-10, Eumundi Boys d Royal Flush 31-4, Night Owls d Bee Stings 20-15, Rough and Revie d Cormorants 15-7, Incas (Apotokis) d XFactor 18-4. We have space for four more teams, so if you want to join this fun group from 4pm to 6pm then dinner afterwards call Lynne on 0405 131 746 or David on 0414 833 509.
If you would like to come along and try barefoot bowls or get some coaching, Nancy will be waiting to help you out with the finer art of bowling on the green Friday afternoons after 2.30pm.
Ladies pairs: Winners were Yvonne Pattinson and Sandra French winning by two points from Bettina Winkler and Eileen Reece.
Men’s pairs: Winners were Eric Kenzler and Ben French winning on the last end by four bowls, to win by two points. They defeated Bevan Mahoney and Russell Butler. Thanks for a great game of bowls.
The ladies and men’s are next so please put your teams in by the closing date of 23 June.
We are also looking for some players to complete a full green on Thursday 11 June.
If you are looking for a club to play bowls you are most welcome to come along and try us out. Call Lynne 0405 131 746, or email cooroycommunitybowls@gmail.com
