Potters’ turn to open studios

Ceramic artist Elke Lucas will open her studio this weekend.

The Open Studio Weekend is on again with ceramic artists from all over the country opening their studios to the public.
The event is a great chance to meet the maker, soak up the atmosphere of the working studio, enjoy clay demonstrations and purchase unique ceramics directly from the potter, as well as view and handle the work and get a glimpse of their studio environment and practice.
Elke Lucas is a local ceramic artist based in Marcus Beach where she makes her hand-thrown porcelain tableware and will be opening her studio doors to the public over the weekend of 15 and 16 August.
As well as a range of tableware and gift items for sale, there will also be a wheel throwing demonstration to give an idea of the process involved in her work.
Elke’s studio is located at 4 Mahogany Drive, Marcus Beach, and will be open on 15 and 16 August from 10.30am to 4pm.
