When virtuosos pull the strings

A GROUP of internationally recognised acoustic guitarists have joined forces to weave musical magic at the Acoustic Guitar Spectacular at the Majestic Theatre, on Friday 21 August.
Among the top guitarists is Brisbane-based Michael Fix, who was recently named as one of Australia’s Top 25 Guitarists of all time.
Fix will be joined by New Yorker and fingerstyle funkster Adam Rafferty and internationally acclaimed flamenco virtuoso Andrew Veivers for a night of musical entertainment.
Joining the international talent is 12-year-old local guitarist Mattahn McNair who began playing the guitar at just eight.
Mattahn has already played at a number of venues around the coast including the Caloundra Events Centre, weddings, and a performance with the Buderim Male Choir.
Mattahn said he loves all styles of music from classical to Spanish flamenco and enjoys playing and sharing his passion with the audience.
This is a night not to be missed. Tickets are on sale now at $20 per person pre-sale via www.redchair.com.au or $30 on the night at the door.
The Acoustic Guitar Spectacular will be held at the Majestic Theatre Pomona, 3 Factory Street, Pomona, at 7.30pm, with the bar and food available from 6.30pm.
