Cup tour stops over for brekky

By JOLENE OGLE

And they’re off! The Melbourne Cup is on its way to Noosa with a special stop at the Noosa Heads Surf Club on 3 October for the official tour breakfast.
It’s a chance to get up close and personal with the $175,000, 18-carat gold Emirates Melbourne Cup, an honour usually reserved for the winning horse and jockey.
The breakfast is great value at only $30 per person, with each person receiving a $25 meal voucher from the Surf Club restaurant to use at a later date.
For entertainment, Noosa’s own rising star, Ashleigh Mueckenberger, will perform and Closet Hunter will present this season’s hottest items in a fashion parade.
Local businesses have come on board offering outstanding holiday packages, travel vouchers, beauty and health hampers and so much more, to be auctioned and raffled off on the day to help raise funds for the Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving.
Rob Neely and Cindy LeBrun of Integrated Animal Health were the driving force behind the campaign to bring the Melbourne Cup Tour to Noosa.
The tour will see the cup visit schools and retirement villages as it makes its way back to Melbourne on 27 October, just in time for the race that stops the nation on 4 November 2014.
The Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour charity breakfast will be held on 3 October, from 6.30am to 8.45am at the Noosa Heads Surf Club, Hastings Street, Noosa Heads.
Pre-purchase tickets are available now. Phone 5474 5688 to secure your table.
