Tourists up, Travellers down

THE Coolum tennis courts were busy last week with two home matches for the Ladies, Friday night and Saturday morning junior NDTA fixtures and the Sunshine Coast fixtures Saturday afternoon.
Coolum Tourists were very pleased to beat the top team in their division 39 – 32 last Friday. Unfortunately, Coolum Travellers didn’t have the same success.
Thank you to the junior parents for help with the barbecue. With Noelene Cook away, the clubhouse is not so well looked after. Feel free to do any cleaning up necessary. It will be appreciated. The players of all ages and abilities are looking forward to celebrating another Patron’s Day on Sunday.
Don’t forget it is a 9am start. The cost is $10 and you are asked to bring a small plate. Let’s make it a day our esteemed patron will be proud of. Laurie Bruhl, our patron is excited as he has added a second trophy to the day. For the last few years, the winner has been male with a female runner-up. This year there is both a male and female trophy. Laurie also donates raffle prizes. No person has won two years in a row. Leon Nguyen is our current title holder. Can he win a second year?
