OKA to usher in New Year

The Imperial Hotel Eumundi has your New Year’s Eve sorted with a stellar line-up of groove goodness!
The live music kicks off in the Imperial Beer Garden from 2pm with Ryan Giles and his acoustic magic, followed by local favourite Jay Bishoff from 6.30pm.
The Brewery will be pumping from 8.30pm with The SuperTrouts getting the vibe just right.
They’ll then hand over the stage to the one and only OKA – the perrrrrrfect band to see in the New Year.
Embracing the future without losing sight of the past, OKA draws upon their Indigenous connection to place and country to create their signature feel-good Australian earth sound – an irresistible blend of influences spanning house, big beat, reggae-dub, roots, jazz and world music.
A mash-up of dance and downtempo electro beats marinated in the mystical spirit of the Dreamtime.
At the creative heart of the music is Stu Boga Fergie (aka DidgeriSTU) who connects you to earth with the deep subsonic pulse and resonance of his Yidaki (didgeridoo). He is the big man behind the electronic beats, keys and vocals inspired by his Aboriginal heritage.
The OKA Collective includes captivating melody on guitar, sax, flute and woodwinds woven through organic juju beats of deep tribal fire. A sound and force that touches the heart and connects the soul.
Described as a mash up of Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder and the chemical brothers on acid playing in a steaming rainforest with a didgeridoo, you won’t want to miss OKA this New Year’s Eve.
It’s highly recommended to secure your tickets now for a New Year’s Eve with the ultimate Sunny Coast vibe.
TICKETS: Pre-sale $30 (+ booking fee) through Oztix or at the Imperial Hotel (Ph: 5442 8811). $35 at the door
Leave the car at home this New Year’s Eve, but be sure to book early – The Imperial Hotel’s free courtesy bus operates Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm + Sundays from 2pm travelling to Eumundi, Belli Park, Cooroy, Doonan, Eerwah Vale, North Arm, and Verrierdale. Phone Gary on 0467 414 171 to book.
