The Sunshine Butterflies proved a crowd favourite when they received a generous donation from a local Noosa business this week.
Leanne Walsh, founder of the not-for-profit disability charity, was presented with a $350 cheque after Jeroo Pavri Thomas of the Cooking Company implemented a new concept in her store which allows customers to determine which charities will receive donations from the business.
Local charities are chosen by staff members and customers are encouraged to drop a token with a value of $1 into a jar of their choice which determines the value of the cheque the charity will be presented with after three months.
Ms Thomas said the concept has been received well by customers and she intends to continue supporting local charities through her token system.
