THE numbers are in and Noosa District State High School has a lot to be proud of with 78 per cent of students graduating with an OP score between 1 and 10.
According to the school, nine students achieved an OP within the 1 to 5 range, and 98 per cent of eligible students received tertiary offers.
Almost 300 vocational education and training certificates were issued and 93 per cent of students graduated with a Queensland Certificate of Education.
A Noosa District State High School spokesperson said the results were a wonderful achievement from the graduates.
“It will soon be back to business after a long summer holiday for many of the graduates who plan to embark on their tertiary studies at some of Queensland’s leading universities,” the spokesperson said.
Graduate Karli Kuskopf is one of the students who achieved an OP score of 1, and has enrolled to study a double bachelor degree of Law and Journalism at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Nikki Craigie, Nadia Dunning and Emily Beattie all received an OP score of 2, and have enrolled at the University of Queensland.
Nikki said she was looking forward to studying a Bachelor of Science, while Nadia is planning to study a Bachelor of Pharmacy, and Emily would enjoy a gap year in Europe before taking on a Bachelor of Vet Science.
Jarrad Greentree received an OP score of 5 and is gearing up to study a Bachelor of Aviation, as well as preparing to apply for a position in the Air Force within the Australian Defence Force later this year.
Nadia Dunning said Noosa District State High School’s teachers and support staff assisted the graduates in achieving their success.
“I would like to thank my teachers for a great five years of education,” she said.
Kali Kuskopf said she enjoyed her time at school and said hard work and a focused dedication to her studies helped her achieve an OP 1.
Jarrad Greentree said outstanding academic outcomes by students for the class of 2014 showed students did not need to go to private schools to get great OP scores.
“Our results show that Noosa District State High School is a great place to learn,” he said.
Noosa District State High School staff said they were immensely proud of the 2014 graduates and wish them great success and happiness as they take on the real world.
