MAKE the most of the summer weather with a blanket, some live tunes and good company at the Cooroy Originals this Sunday, from 1pm.
Get along to Apex Park to hear Brea Robertson, Benny D. William, Scott Cook and The Lyrical take to the stage for an afternoon of cool tunes.
Brea Robertson is a singer songwriter from Maleny. Growing up, she spent three and a half years travelling around Australia with her family and for the past two years she has been performing with a trio called Wyla. Brea is passionate about making music from her heart, and wants to share her story through her songs.
Benny D. Williams is an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist with an incredibly diverse and rich voice. His music is a dreamy combination of psychedelic soul, blues, roots and trip-funk.
With amazing layered vocal harmonies, beautiful acoustic instrumentalism and organic mind-boggling use of live performance technology, you could think there’s a whole band on stage. Benny D. Williams redefines the modern solo performer.
Canada’s prairie balladeer Scott Cook is a tirelessly traveling songwriter who has been making a full-time living at music since 2007, touring extensively across Canada, the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Scott is currently on tour in support of his fourth release, One More Time Around. Its opening track “Pass It Along” won the Folk and Acoustic category in the 2013 UK Songwriting Contest.
Road-worn, painfully honest, and deeply human, his straight-talking tunes weave together folk, roots, blues, soul and country with claw hammer banjo arrangements and spacious fingerstyle guitar.
The Lyrical, also known as Karl Smith, has become a rising star of the music scene in Brisbane. The Sunshine State capital has always been a hotbed for new talent in a variety of genres and the acoustic/hip-hop/reggae scene is now no exception to that tradition.
Following in the footsteps of Ben Harper, Bob Marley, Michael Franti and Xavier Rudd, The Lyrical reflects the ingenuity and musical aptitude it takes to be great and is fast becoming one of those artists who demand your attention.
Catch all these fantastic bands at the Cooroy Originals, a fantastic family-friendly original music event powered by donations and proudly supported by Cooroy Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank, Cooroy Hotel, Wimmers Softdrinks, East Coast Originals and Cooroy Chamber of Commerce Inc.
