Record team set to sizzle

A RECORD 22 athletes from Noosa Athletics have been selected to be part of the Queensland Heat team competing at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships.
The athletes, aged between 12 and 20, will travel to Sydney this week to compete in a number of track and field events over five days from 11-15 March.
Three of these athletes have also qualified to compete at the Australian Combined Event Championships from 26-29 March in Brisbane. Coaches at Noosa Athletics believe that the athletes’ determination and dedication to training has paid off for them in being selected to represent their state.
“Every one of these athletes deserves to be part of the Queensland Heat team,” head coach Mick Hooper said.
“They’ve put in 100 per cent effort and have been training three to four times a week for most of the season.
“It’s also rewarding for us as coaches to see that the time and effort we have put in to training and guiding these athletes is allowing them to reach their potential.”
