Ready for Aussie Titles

By DEAN SMALLMAN

THIS weekend at Maroochydore, the 2016 Australian Surf Life Saving titles will begin. Sunshine Beach SLSC, which comes off the back of impressive finishes at Branch and State titles, will enter the competition with its biggest ever group of competitors.
The well-documented successes in the Under 14 and Under 15 ranks, along with the solid performance of the Under 17, Under 19 and Open age groups will be complemented by the Masters group, which this year has seen numbers and results swell to amazing levels.
Dan Moore, Director of Surf Sports at Sunshine, said that the success of the entire team has come from exceptional coaching and a culture of togetherness that is almost unique within this amazing club.
Last Sunday evening, almost 100 of Sunshine’s competitors and their families attended an Aussie Titles launch, where uniforms were presented to all team members.
With Craig Law, president of Sunshine Beach SLSC, welcoming all attendees, the everyone was excited and confident moving into the final event of the year.
