Colourful body of work

THE Australian Body Art Festival promises to be a colourful collaboration of Pop Trashion, body paint and a host of guest artists.
The three-day festival kicks off this Friday 16 October and will include a program full of workshops, competitions, exhibitions, and a Saturday night arts jam in the style of the Warhol Factory.
The Australian Body Art Festival centres on a unique artistic expression using the body as its three-dimensional canvas with applications ranging from face painting to special effects, airbrushing and wearable art.
Visitors and artists will witness body art in surprising new ways and can get hands-on at workshops, showcase their creativity in competitions or simply be spectators and embrace the fusion of fashion, art and culture across the weekend.
Relaunched this year, the festival will focus on combining art with fashion in this year’s theme of Pop Trashion; a cool melding of the New Warhol movement with enviro fashion style.
Highlights of the three-day program include an appearance from renowned body artist Emma Hack who painted Gotye and Kimbra in the famous Somebody That I Used to Know film clip, the Saturday night Lost Movements Arts Jam and the myriad of body art shows throughout the weekend.
The Australian Body Art Festival will be held at the Eumundi Amphitheatre from Friday 16 October with a host of workshops to kick start the 2015 festival, with the main events to be held on Saturday and Sunday.
