The Queensland Koala Crusaders raised $2000 last week of the $30,000 they aim to raise over the month to plant 10,000 koala food trees in the Noosa Shire.
More than 100 people attended a DoodleJam event at Noosa Arts Cafe last Tuesday to add their doodles and cash to their crowdfunding campaign.
Wildlife conservationist Bob Irwin provided the first doodle on canvases that were added to throughout an evening of entertainment with Melony Breasts as MC.
QKC president Meghan Halverson said the group’s ultimate goal was to help create protected areas and connecting corridors that provide sanctuary and allow the koala to thrive and regenerate.
