Girls just want to have fun

By KATIE DE VERTEUIL

THE year is 1945 and as peace extends across Europe on VE Day, British Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret are allowed out to join in the celebrations.
It is a night full of excitement, danger and the first flutters of romance for the two young royals who dress incognito so as not to be recognised by the general public.
Directed by Julian Jarrold, A Royal Night Out is a comedy-drama starring the delightful Sarah Gadon (Princess Elizabeth) and Bel Powley (Princess Margaret).
Taking the audience on a journey back in time, the film’s costumes and sets conjure a flavourful sense of period.
A Royal Night Out is a story of love, the excitement of youth and the adventure of two girls who just wanna have fun.
