Dolphins know the best place to be

THE Cooroy Dolphins Swimming Club was widely represented last weekend at the competitive Noosa Winter Festival – with every Cooroy Dolphin Swimmer placing in their respective age groups.
Not only did the kids smash it but so did the Cooroy Dolphins parents.
Results included Ethan Druce who took out first place in the 1km swim, Lachlan Reading who came second. Tess Davies placed second in the girls 1km swim, while Georgia Reading came third.
Juanita Druce took second place in the 500m swim, Zac Price came second in the 1km swim for boys aged 11-12 and Grant Davies represented the dads, while Jess Askew, Georgina Price, Everlyn Druce and Liia Davies represented the mums.
Dolphins head coach Andrew Cowan said the kids had been putting in a lot of hard work and commitment into their swimming.
“With the start of the winter swimming carnival season approaching the kids are in great shape for fantastic results throughout this season,” he said.
“The club has been in a growing phase the past 12 months or so, so it is great to see all the hard work paying off and the kids relishing in the results.
“I am really happy with their results and also really proud of our club and the participation we have seen not only from the kids but parents as well.”
Winner of the 13-15 year boys 1km race Ethan Druce said he really enjoy swimming and loved being motivated by the head coach.
“Andrew always finds a way to motivate me to give that extra bit in training. I am really happy with my swim, it was a PB for me. All of those hard sets are paying off,” he said.
The Cooroy Pool is open to the public and caters for all ages and abilities.
