Stage set for busking brothers

Catch Sunshine Coast duo Hoo8Hoo at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club.

TRANSFORMING street corners into stages since boyhood, now at the tender ages of 17 and 14 Sunshine Coast busker brothers Tim and Sam Aitken, better known as Hoo8hoo, are making some serious steps into the world of indie/pop music.
With cajon drums, melodic guitars and impeccable vocal harmonies, Hoo8hoo’s influences hark back to internationally renowned buskers-turned-superstars, winning praise from the likes of Ed Sheeren and Passenger on their recent Australian tours.
At home, much like their Britpop idols, Hoo8hoo have forged a tireless reputation for swoonsome live street shows as well as establishing their own collection of impressive pop tunes about first loves and fitting in.
The Sunshine Coast sibling duo hit the ground running in 2016, signing to international music manager, Dennis Dunstan who has serious plans in mind for Tim and Sam’s undeniably exciting future.
Dennis, who was instrumental in the management and success of legendary international bands Fleetwood Mac and Men at Work, immediately recognized Hoo8hoo’s exceptional talent.
“They have the sort of voices that resonated with not only me but everyone in the crowd.
“They remind me of the type of talent Australia produced 40 years ago in The Bee Gees, a blend of vocal talent that only siblings seem to be able to produce. Lookout world,” he said.
As the youngest artists ever to perform on stage at the Byron Bay Blues Festival after winning the 2015 busking competition, Tim and Sam have remained true to their busking roots, performing at festivals across Queensland including the Caloundra Music Festival.
Impossible not to be completely sucked in by Hoo8hoo’s killer sound and feel good tunes, at this rate, the Sunshine Coast sibling duo are ones to keep your eye on.
Check out the sibling duo as they support Rebecca O’Connor as Tina Turner on Sunday 24 July from 3pm at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club.
Tickets $5 for members and $12 non-members.
