Hazards of the bar

By JONATHON HOWARD

NOOSA Coast Guard rushed to the aid of a small vessel that had capsized over the Noosa Bar on Sunday, 10 August.
Two occupants of the vessel were safely recovered by Coast Guard QF5 officers.
Deputy Flotilla Commander QF5 and media advisor Alan Hall, said an anchor and anchor line were thrown out of the vessel and briefly posed a hazard to any other vessels crossing the bar.
“Coast Guard had advised vessels to take care and our crew recovered the anchor and line later that day,” he said.
Anyone wanting to find out about Noosa Coast Guard memberships, or those stricken at sea, can contact Noosa Coast Guard on (07) 5474 3695.
Anyone in an emergency situation should dial triple zero.
