The victory of the Vikings

THE era known as the Viking Age lasted for over 300 years and is commonly portrayed by horned helmets and animal-fur clothing, but history tells a more complex story of a fascinating culture, based upon craftsmanship and trade.
Noosa 5 Cinemas will be showing Vikings from the British Museum, an exclusive, private view of the British Museum’s major exhibition Vikings: life and legend on 7 and 8 June, at 2pm and 7pm.
The exhibition was filmed live in London with exhibition curator Gareth Williams and leading world experts taking cinema audiences through the exhibition, getting up close to objects and exploring the global contacts, ships and swords, burials and beliefs of the Viking Age as well as examining the Vikings’ enduring language and legacy.
With demonstrations, stunning close-up photography of the Viking objects and a torch-lit burial staged in the grounds of the museum, Vikings from the British Museum will be a reminder of how the Vikings have shaped our modern lives.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. For more information visit our website www.noosacinemas.com.au or phone the box office on 07 5447 5130.
