Staged for the dogs

By Hollie Harris

DOGS of all colours, ages and sizes almost outnumbered actors on stage at a recent rehearsal for the forthcoming RSPCA charity performance – Under Milk Woods.
The actors and RSPCA volunteers brought their dogs to the Noosa Arts Theatre for a photoshoot to promote the performance of Under Milkwood next Wednesday 23 November to raise funds for the charity.
As an integral component of efforts by the Noosa Arts Theatre to support community causes, 50 per cent of the $40 tickets, which include a light supper at interval, will be donated to one of Australia’s pre-eminent animal welfare associations, the Noosa RSPCA.
They will also run a raffle on the night where all monies will go to the RSPCA. The prizes are a bottle of Moet and a $50 voucher to Padstows at Noosa Junction or a $100 voucher for Bob Jane T-Mart.
The RSPCA is committed to the care and welfare of animals in the local and wider community and fund-raising evenings such as this are essential to support their vital programs and services, as well as looking after animals in their care.
Directed by Liza Park, Under Milk Wood, completed just before Dylan Thomas’ death in 1954, gives full expression to the sense of flavour and variety of life in a small coastal community not unlike Noosa.
A uniquely captivating piece of physical theatre not to be missed starts at 7.30pm Wednesday night, so grab your tickets early to support Noosa RSPCA online at www.noosaartstheatre.org.au or telephone 5449 9343.
Counter sales are also available Tuesday to Friday between 9am to 2pm at 163 Weyba Road, Noosaville.
