Voters turn out in droves

VOTING has kicked off for the 2016 Noosa Council Elections with a record number of voters already having their say as pre-polling opened this week.
Voters who are unable to vote on Saturday 19 March can lodge a pre-poll vote in person today between 9am and 5pm; and Friday 18 March between 9am and 6pm at either the Christian Outreach Centre, 202 Beckmans Road, Noosaville or at the Returning Officer’s premises at 3A Production Street, Noosaville, which is in the industrial estate.
Noosa voters are reminded there is no absentee voting for the 19 March local government elections in Queensland and voters are reminded they must vote at a booth within the Noosa Shire for the local election as well as the State Referendum on parliamentary terms which is being undertaken at the same time.
The locations of voting booths for Saturday 19 March are as follows:
1. Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club, 24 Boreen Parade, BOREEN POINT
2. Cooran State School, 31 James Street, COORAN
3. Noosa District High School, 2 Tulip Street, COOROY
4. Kin Kin State School, 26-32 Main Street, KIN KIN
5. Sunshine Beach State School, Bicentennial Drive, SUNSHINE BEACH
6. Noosa Baptist Church Hall, 213 Weyba Road, NOOSAVILLE
7. Christian Outreach Centre Hall, 202 Beckmans Road (at cnr of Eumundi-Noosa Road), NOOSAVILLE
8. Peregian Beach Community House, 255 David Low Way, PEREGIAN BEACH
9. Pomona Community House – Lawson Shed, 1 Memorial Avenue, POMONA
10. Tewantin State School, Goodwin Street, TEWANTIN
