THE Salvation Army Noosa celebrated 10 years of Mainly Music at the Salvation Army facility in Noosaville last week.
For many years, parents have been taking their young children along for the music and fun time program at the Salvation Army facility in Noosaville.
Last Wednesday the group held a very special 10th birthday party to celebrate their long-standing place within the community.
Salvation Army officer Lieutenant Lara Sutcliffe has been leading this program for under-fives and their parents for the last five years and has watched the group grow in numbers.
“We want to share what we do with the local Noosa community.
“Some parents have been coming here for the last 10 years with their children. As each one gets older, the next ones join in. We have a couple of parents who have been here from the beginning and one of the original teachers too.
“We want to share with the children and parents that we are all a part of this journey together,” Ms Sutcliffe said.
The classes have grown as big as 50 and the atmosphere is loud, fun and energetic with six more leaders keeping the party going.
The children learn educational songs and dance and the parents get involved.
“There are a few dads and grandparents too. We really welcome everyone and there is an open door policy for people to come and go as they please.
“We really wanted to celebrate this occasion because over the last 10 years, we’ve probably touched quite a few lives around here,” Ms Sutcliffe said.
Pop down to 6 Bartlett Street, Noosaville to the Salvation Army Uniting Church on Wednesdays at 9.30 for a mad morning of fun with your little one.
Entry is only $3 per child or $5 for a family and morning tea is supplied.
