LOCAL police have been praised for their quick actions following the arrest of a man charged with armed robbery at Noosa Heads on Monday 14 September.
Noosa Heads officer in charge Senior Sergeant Steve McReight said good information from the public helped police locate and arrest the offender within an hour of the alleged crime taking place.
Police will allege that at about 9.30am on Monday 14 September, a 22-year-old man went to a home of an acquaintance on Coral Street, Noosa Heads.
It will be alleged the man threatened the resident with a 30cm kitchen knife and then stole $500 in cash from the home.
Police were able to locate the man a short time later on Emu Mountain Road, where he was arrested and taken to the watch house.
The 22-year-old Coolum Beach man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and entering a dwelling with intent, and two counts of possessing a dangerous drug. He is due to appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates’ Court on 23 September.
