Field of pink dreams

On 25 October, the Eumundi Markets hill will be alive with a sea of pink in support of breast cancer survivors.
The mini field of pink women silhouettes is the initiative of the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) which supports Australians affected by breast cancer.
Local musician and event organiser Tracey Combes is a breast cancer survivor and is urging locals to attend the event from 9am and place a pink lady in the field to honour friends and family who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Ms Combes said most people in the local community will know someone affected by breast cancer.
“Around 15,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia this year alone,” she said.
“Every time a woman is told she has breast cancer, the impact extends to her family, friends and those around her in the community.
“Providing support for women and families affected by breast cancer is important for our local community.
“Eumundi Markets Mini field of women is an excellent opportunity for locals to rally together and offer their support to those affected – be it our mates, our family or perfect strangers.”
Funds raised from the event will directly assist BCNA to support Australians who have been personally affected by breast cancer.
This support includes providing the My Journey Kit, a free comprehensive information resource for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
