Village Bicycle saddles up

By Jolene Ogle

THE much-loved Village Bicycle is on the move to a new location, after battling council and residents over noise issues.
Owners Trevor and Luke wanted to operate their business until 12pm seven nights a week, but were unable to gain permission from Noosa Council who imposed a list of restrictions on the venue.
To keep the vibe of Village Bicycle alive, the business owners have decided to move their bar and restaurant into a larger venue in the Noosa Junction at 34 Sunshine Beach Road, directly opposite the ANZ Bank.
The new Village Bicycle is expected to open just in time for the December party season and will feature three spaces; an intimate indoor area, an outdoor space at the front of the venue and a beer garden at the rear.
In a statement to the media, Luke and Trevor said they had worked with council to ensure the restrictions placed on the original Village Bicycle wouldn’t be a factor at the new location.
The current Village Bicycle site will be retained and opened as Cholo in late December. The new venue will be a restaurant and bar based on modern Mexican fare with a twist.
