Star shines bright for Lara

By RANDALL WOODLEY

SUNSHINE Beach cricket player Lara Daly has starred at the Under 12 Girls Queensland Cricket Competition held in Brisbane last week.
The Tewantin-Noosa Cricket Club’s player was part of the combined region’s President’s XI team.
The competition for girls was played over five consecutive days at the Brisbane Grammar Cricket Ovals, and the President’s XI team won three of the five games played.
This was the best result to date for the team that draws players from all regions across Queensland without a regional representative side.
The result was especially good, considering the team had never met, or played together before the competition.
Lara’s bowling figures totalled 8 wickets for 31 runs off 17 overs, including two games of 3 for 8 and 3 for 5.
Batting, Lara managed four not outs in five innings, with 10 runs off 10 balls not out and a 12 off 12 balls not out, both at the close of the innings to claim the victories.
