One Act Auditions

If you have ever thought about being on stage or have a love for performing, then you will relish in the chance to be a part of the well loved National One Act Play Festival run by Noosa Arts Theatre.
Three finalists have been chosen from across Australia, two comedies and a drama will showcase some of Australia’s best writing and acting talent.
Are you interested in playing a part? Auditions for all three plays are on Tuesday 8th May, 7pm at Noosa arts Theatre for both male and females aged from 20 to 70 years of age in a variety of roles.
‘An Autumn Romance’ by Cerise deGelder from Victoria requires two females approximately 50 years of age, one female in here mid twenties and one male in his late twenties.
The play is about Ellie, who has a comfortable life. She is single and independent, shares her home with to cats and has a steady income as a writer on a successful Aussie Soap. Then, one night a handsome TV actor makes her an offer she really should refuse and things take a sinister turn in TV town. Tune in next week and all will be revealed – or will it?
‘Premeditated Misadventure’ by Richard Harris from New Zealand requires one female in her late twenties, one female over thirty and one female over fifty and one male in his fifties with a possibility for more castings. the story is about Freya, who is adopted and discovers that her biological mother may have been murdered by her step-father, who then abandoned her. He is now living locally – with his sixth wife! He profited from the demise of all his previous wives who each dies by misadventure. Suspicious, Freya decides to investigate.
‘Old Maids’ by Ruth Tuxworth from Queensland requires females who are twenty to thirty, one in their fifities and an elderly female as well as males in their thirties and in their fifties.
The story is about two old maids – Bridie who falls into an unexpected, socially unacceptable love and her own ‘Old Maid’ who tells the truth of it. Issues of family tension, abandonment, forbidden love, hypocrisy and natural justice all bubble beneath the brittle surface as the family prepares for a wedding.
