Dolphins in their element

By LUCY WHITEHALL

U7: The wet weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the team as the Noosa Fins defeated the USC Barbarians 60-35. Dominos Pizza player of the match went to Rory Ramsden.
U8: After three weeks without rugby the lads were buzzing with excitement and hardly noticed the conditions as they ran on to face this week’s opposition, Grammar Blues. In the end the under-8 Noosa Fins defeated Grammar Blue 45-15.
U9: The under-9 Fins had been beaten by Caloundra in the first round, but this week they played their best game ever defeating the Caloundra Gold team 10-0.
U10: Fresh from the mid-season break, proud captain Archie lead the boys on the field winning the toss and electing to run into the wind for the first half. The Noosa Fins came out winners with a score of 33-0.
U10: The Noosa Red team went down to Brother Wolves 7-30. For most it was the first time playing on Sunshine Coast Stadium and the players gave their all in trying conditions. Pearl, Tom and Toby all ran strongly and Smith, Hunter and Dylan were ferocious in defence.
U11: The Noosa Red team went down to the Maleny team 19-21 after the Reds shot out to an early lead. Maleny fought back and the scores were close in the dying minutes but it was Maleny who broke for a well-deserved win.
U11: The Noosa Fins were on fire as they defeated St Andrew’s 52-7. It was the great structure and continual backing up that saw the Fins race in eight tries.
U12: The Noosa Reds went down 7-52 to the Caloundra team at Stockland. The Red’s beat them first up this year and were hoping for a repeat, but Caloundra had other ideas and right from the start played some great wet-weather rugby.
