Noosa Mayor Tony Wellington evened the score when his team raced to the finish line at the 2017 Noosa Billy Cart Grand Prix on Sunday beating Nicklin MP Peter Wellington who claimed last year’s win.
Before the main race of the day the MP sought the advice of Year 2 competitors who told him “do not let go”.
Despite this the mayor’s team led from start to finish.
The billy cart race is the main event of Noosa Christian College’s annual fun day of activities.
