Colours come alive

VIBRANT Noosa artist Sharon Jack is part of the current series of exhibitors in the PopUp Art Series Exhibition at the Cooroy Butter Factory.
Sharon has viewed many contrasting landscapes through the years to inspire her art.
Originally from the Gold Coast, she has lived in dry Central Queensland and the crisp mountain landscape of the Snowy Mountain region.
But it wasn’t until she moved to the red desert country of the Pilbara in Western Australia that Sharon finally discovered her true inspiration.
“My favourite colours have always been reds, oranges, yellows and purples,” Sharon said.
“Living in the Pilbara enabled me to utilise these colours while exploring that magnificent area and recreating it and its inhabitants on canvas.”
“The canvas is my playground and the outback my muse,” Sharon explains.
Sharon’s work is often described as “different and vibrant” with its warmth of colours and simplicity of line while exhibiting a unique new approach to landscape.
Subsequent to calling the Sunshine Coast home, Sharon has been invited back to the Pilbara region to exhibit her works at the Port Hedland Gallery.
Her works can also be found in Brisbane restaurants and in corporate and personal collections.
