People’s jury lauded

By JONATHON HOWARD

NOOSA Today hit the streets this week to ask resdients and visitors whether they agree with the Noosa Council’s idea to form a people’s jury to make the tough decisions.
“I’ve read a lot about this and I think it’s good. It’s a forum for the people to solve problems, which I agree with. I also think if (Cr) Bob Abbot has anything to do with it, then it will be a good thing,” Allan Smith, Beaudesert.
“I’d put my hand up for the jury. I think the more input into council decisions the better, as long as people are selected from a wide variety of people and not residents with vested interests,” Steve McLean, Marcus Beach.
“If they are genuine and Mayor (Noel) Playford says the council is transparent, then decisions made by the jury also need to be transparent. I think it’s also important for the public and media to have full access to the process,” Beven Inwood, Noosa.
