Look out for the Floating Land art installations to be installed along the Noosa River foreshore and Noosa Woods area from 23 September to 2 October as part of the five-week arts festival.
A Noosa Council project, Floating Land brings together exhibitions, events and workshops in nature about nature, and this year the theme is Lost and Found.
The festival prides itself on leaving “no mark on the environment but only to make an impression on the people who visit”.
Floating Land commenced in 2001, and will involve local and regional artists working in-situ with the community, to create ephemeral art installations in outdoor settings.
In the past, it has demonstrated its ability to assist the community in understanding and responding to complex environmental issues such as climate change through an innovative artistic paradigm.
This year council has commissioned 14 artists to create the sculptural artworks as the highlight of Floating Land 2017.
