Noosa Heads Bowls
LAST Tuesday’s men’s pairs winners were David Deane and Ron Wallish, with runners-up taken by Bill Roberts and Bob Heir. Roberts was again successful in the Friday Jackpot Pairs when he teamed with George Manera. Second prize went to Pat Teale and Verle McComb. Winners in the first-round losers section were Marie McCall and Ursula Ford from Judith Boakes and Geoff Lewis.
On Wednesday, Noosa played its final night pennant match of the season at Coolum Beach, going down to the hosts on four rinks to one. Our ladies pair of Pat Teale and Gill Macdonald won their match.
Coolum topped the table and will go on to play Kawana No.1 team in the 22 December final at Maroochy.
This is the last week of regular competition for a while, but we’ll be back in action early in the New Year. -The Chalker

Noosa District Drug Store … Wednesday Men’s Pairs Winners were Mal Lloyd and Ian Sanday from Noosa Heads (2 wins + 28 ) Pairs Runners-up were Loui Lloyd and Wayne Langham (1 win + 13) Triples Winners were Rick McDonald, Sno Jocelyn and Jim McDonald (Win + 12 pts). The Jackpot was not won and carries over. Wednesday Bowls resume on 7 January 2015.
Laguna Estate … Friday Open Triples, was not played due to inclement weather ‘closing’ the greens. The Jackpot of $160 was not won and carries over … Friday bowls resume on 9 January 2015.
Pork Day on Saturday … Mixed Fours conducted by the Ladies was a successful day with many local teams competing. Winners were 1st … Team Reed 2nd … Team Geary 3rd Team Bush and 4th Team Lynch. – Green Master
Ham Day … Men’s Fours conducted by Bob Schofield on behalf of the men was very successful with 44 teams from around the District and teams travelling from Brisbane to compete. Hams were awarded to the top 10 teams with outright winners 1st … Team Mayes (Aspley) 2nd … Team Dale (Coolum) 3rd … Team Muir (Pomona).
