Dramatic vision in a flash

A NOOSA photographer has captured a dramatic light show from Sunrise Beach following a week of chaotic weather.
A series of severe storm cells passed over the region last week with more expected this summer.
Winds of more than 70 kilometres per hour were recorded while more than 11,000 lightning strikes were picked up on weather monitoring systems.
Overall close to 27,000 homes and businesses were impacted by power outages and the worst hit areas were in the Ipswich City region, especially the suburbs of Brassall, Walloon, Rosewood and Mt Crosby.
Keen photographer Craig Tod took the photos from Sunrise Beach.
“They were taken across from the chalet shop on my Canon 7D with a 30 second exposure,” he said.
