Noosa Shire Council has revamped the Tewantin Parkyn Court skate park with new concrete hip-bank sections, taco ramp, fun box and concrete stairs.
Council project officer Dallas Bickley said the skate park was incredibly popular but had recently started showing its age.
“It is due for a facelift and council has been working with Trinity Skateparks to deliver a revamp that will include a range of enhancements,” he said.
The concrete skate area has been increased in size to create a continual skating flow and provide better access, with a new galvanised steel hand rail to complete the upgrade.
Trinity Skateparks’s Kodan Lynam, who is a sponsored skater, said the Tewantin skate park had been a childhood training ground for several professional skaters.
“It’s well known among local skaters.
“I personally have great memories of that skate park from past Christmases spent on Noosa River in a houseboat,” he said.
High time for revamp
