Cooran equestrian Billy Raymont has just won the Pacific League World Cup Showjumping series for 2017.
This series comprises 10 top level qualifying events which were held in Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia throughout the year.
His win qualifies Billy to go to both the World Equestrian Games, to be held in South Carolina in 2018, and to the World Cup Showjumping Final, to be held in Paris in 2018.
Riding two different horses, Anton, and Oaks Redwood, Billy had a total of five wins and was highly placed in four of the other competitions.
This in not the first time Billy won the series, having achieved it 2004 at the age of 23 on a horse that he had trained himself, Royal Selections.
He has also been runner-up on his horse, Stardom, in the 2010, 2011 and 2013 World Cup series, and on Anton in 2016.
He has consistently won Grand Prix competitions at Australia’s Royal Shows in all of the years after 2004.
Win to take on the world
