Disqualified Driving
A 21-year-old Noosa man has been disqualified from driving for two-and-a-half years and fined $2100 at the Noosa Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Xian Pietro Pedretti pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified by a court order, and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.30 per cent on 19 January at about 11pm.
The court heard Pedretti decided to drive because his friend was a “horrible” driver and the two men were travelling in Pedretti’s car.
The magistrate labelled Pedretti’s driving history as “disgraceful” and said he was a “risk on the road”.
Pedretti was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for two years for driving while disqualified and he was fined $1500 and disqualified from driving for six months for the drink driving offence.
Double Drink Driving
A Cooroy woman has been charged with drink driving twice in as many days, after witnesses saw her stumbling to her car.
Leanne Beryl Henningsen pleaded guilty to two counts of drink driving in Noosa Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The first offence was on 1 February at about 6.30pm, when witnesses called police after they saw Henningsen leave a Cooroy venue and stumble to her car.
On 3 February at about 2pm, the police were called again when Henningsen was seen leaving the same venue and stumbling to her car.
Henningsen, who works as a personal carer, was charged with driving her car with a blood alcohol content of 0.093 per cent for the first offence and 0.128 per cent for the second offence.
Henningsen was fined $2000 and disqualified from driving for a total of 6 months.
Weapon Charges
A compound bow, concealable handgun and a self-loading .223 rifle are among the weapons found at a Marcoola property in June 2013.
Marcoola man Luke Mulholland, 40, was charged with unlawful possession of the weapons and pleaded guilty in Noosa Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The five weapons were found in the boot of a car, wrapped in tape. The fingerprints on the tape eventually led to the arrest of Mulholland.
Mulholland was fined $650 and all weapons were destroyed. No conviction was recorded.
