Great lifesaving season celebrated

AS THE end of another great surf lifesaving season approaches, Sunshine Beach Surf Club thanked its sponsors with a hearty breakfast and a live demonstration by award winning lifesavers.
The rain held off as sponsors joined the club’s staff on Tuesday 14 April on the ocean view deck to celebrate a great season and catch up with old friends.
Club ski coach and five-time Olympian Clint Robinson entertained guests with tales from his childhood including a story about a rescue which netted his club thousands of dollars in donations.
And high-ranking U15 champion lifesavers Jonty Redwood and Katie Gleeson acted out a mock rescue to the delight of guests.
