Team building is a winner

THE 2016 Noosa Dolphins Rugby Club season has kicked off with a bang after a great round of games on Saturday 16 April which was dominated by skill and determination.
The Under 6s started with two games this weekend.
Coach Shane said the team was doing well scoring tries and learning about the game and how to be part of a team.
Rival team St Andrews chose the fairest and toughest team player of the game to be Kellen Donoghue.
The Under 8 Reds faced off against the Under 8 Whites and came out on top by a 10 point lead.
The first half of the match saw the Reds run in a handful of impressive team tries.
The Under 8 Dolphins drew with the Wolves with storm clouds brewing in the skies above the field as the Dolphins sprinted out onto the field ready to take on a hungry pack of Brothers wolves.
Player of the day went to Rohan Nichol who was outstanding with straight running on several occasions as Wolves fell away everywhere, Rohan using the old fashion palm to fend them off – it was truly great to watch.
The Under 9s played a hard, physical game but were dominated early by the Maroochy Golds, taking players by surprise with some startling backline running and support.
Defence rallied to the call, led by first time player Justin who tackled like a pro, wiping out ankles all over the field.
Ronan made a blinding run from halfway to score a beauty but it was Max Mac who was everywhere, all day, scoring two valuable tries and keeping the game tight.
The Under 10s were defeated by the Wolves but still put on a high quality games played in wet and tricky conditions.
The forwards are to be commended with their flawless rotations and solid clean outs combined with strong running and defence.
The Under 12s came up against a much strengthened Grammar side in a closely fought opening game.
The Dolphins took an early lead but were unable to dominate for long enough periods to make it count.
A determined and talented Grammar side gradually gathered momentum and started to find gaps in defence to punish Noosa with three unanswered tries and take a match winning lead.
Under 14s had a gruelling start for the season as they come up against the winners of last years’ competition in the opening round.
In soggy conditions the forwards did some solid clean outs and the backs battled against a strong side.
