Open journey through art

LOVERS of art are encouraged to jump on the bus as Noosa Open Studios embarks on a journey through Noosa’s local art scene next month.
The Noosa Open Studios event celebrates artistic and creative locals as they open their private studios to the public over the three-day event.
Noosa Open Studios president Christine Pritchard said the event aimed to showcase the Noosa region and offered bus tours each day to studios showcasing a wide range of art.
“Event attendees shall be able to immerse themselves over the three days with artistry, beauty and wonderment from natural fibres, clay or wood emergence into wearable art, breathtaking sculptures or stunning furniture through to reflections of reality or neuroimages transferred via oil or other medium onto canvas and other products,” Ms Pritchard said.
Attendees will be able to meet local artists such as Chris Postle who previously entered a portrait of Allan Niblett, pioneer of the deep tissue muscle and tendon therapy named the Niblett Technique, into the Archibald Portrait Prize.
Visitors can engage with Chris and other artists and view their works in their studios during the Noosa Open Studios event which is being held from Friday 19 August to Sunday 21 August.
More than 40 artists and artisans will be welcoming attendees to their own unique creative space with Studio Bus Tours available with pick up points in Hastings Street, Gympie Terrace and at the event Hub at Wallace House in Noosaville.
