A star all her own

AUDREY Cooper (nee Hungerford) is one of the first people to be honoured with a special star to be placed on the Cooroy Christmas tree this year.
Audrey is being remembered by her grand-daughter and Cooroy Chamber of Commerce president Danielle Taylor.
Audrey, 94, was born in Woombye in April 1921 and had a lot of wonderful stories of her country life as a child with her sibling. She had many loves but cherished her family most of all. She often commented that as long as she was surrounded by her loved ones, she had everything.
She raised her two girls, Raylee and Robyn, on her own which would have been a formidable task at the time. She always had an incredibly positive attitude and her advice to others who were feeling unhappy was to keep your cup at least half full. Her own cup was mostly overflowing.
She had plenty of joy to spread around leaving most people happier after being in her presence.
She loved her puzzles and was a master of suduko and together with her sister Claudia would finish the Woman’s Day crossword nearly every week.
Audrey loved writing letters and poetry and had written an extensive life story which is in the process of being published.
