School’s sign of the times

It’s always great to know your kids are off to a good start and that’s certainly the case at Noosaville State School, where Principal Mary McMahon unveiled the school’s leaders for 2014 this week.

“We’re all excited about 2014 and I know there are some very proud school leaders who are keen to do our school proud in our grounds but also in our community. This year we’re asking our students to be the best they can be in 2014. We’re all excited to that message up on our school sign every day and it’s great to see so many parents and carers playing active roles in the many different facets of our school,” Mary said.
The school’s 2014 leaders are Caley Dwyer, Sam Murphy (School Captains) Abby Sturgess, Chloe Blain, Ewan McDonald, Annika Taylor Tessa West and Hayley Williams (Vice Captains).
As for the positive messaging from the school, many travelers along Beckmans Road are already aware the school’s electronic sign keeps the many passersby informed about the latest activities in and around the school.
“We’re growing with a growing community, and the programs available within the school and the support the students receive along the way is really impressive,” Mary said.
The school sign is sponsored by Tewantin Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank, and it’s just one of the many ways in which the branch supports the school. Branch manager Wayne Hoens was on hand to meet the new leaders.
“Our relationship with Noosaville State School started some years ago and now we’re happy to support the annual Reader’s Cup and inter-school debating competitions, the chess club, music programs and, of course, the sign at the school, as well as sponsorship of the Life Ed van as it visits Noosaville and surrounding schools. These sponsorships will continue in earnest and we look forward to furthering these associations this year,” Wayne said.
