Club President, Doug Toms
A huge thanks to the Dragons family who volunteered their time and contributed to the hosting success of the weekend’s games at Eumundi’s Showgrounds.
It was a fantastic effort that saw visiting teams heap praise on the condition of our fields, our players who compete with a sportsmanlike manner, our friendly adult members, our great food – indeed the whole experience!!
Best of all our players had a great time and did everybody proud – themselves, parents and club.
With full credit going to all of our wonderful coaching staff whose efforts have resulted in a general rise in skill level.
U6 Coach Luke Youd
Eumundi were well prepared for their home game against an in-strength Brothers team. The cold temperature was the only low statistic on Saturday morning as both teams put on a try scoring bonanza. With multiple try’s scored by CJ, Tristan and Nya, fantastic defensive efforts by Henry and Nixon the young Dragons rallied for a valiant outcome. The most impressive try of the day was from young 4 year-old who fended of two Brothers players to run half the field and score in the corner. A great outcome for all on a frosty winters morning.
U8 Manager, Shane Davies
A strong early effort saw the young Dragons post the first try and keep Caloundra out. An excellent defensive effort and great teamwork in attack saw the boys producing their best half of rugby this season and seesawing first half had the teams level at the break.
A strong second half effort from the opposition had them edging just ahead at the final bell. The boys did themselves extremely proud with a fantastic effort all round. A much improved defense, strong straight running and good suppport play showed just how far they have come this season with the promise of great things to come. Go the mighty Dragons!

A cracker of a game played by the Eumundi Dragons who missed out on a win to Caloundra but who “played like international players” according to coach Brendan Herbert. Man of the match deservedly went to Alex Eaton whose playing rose to a new level in taking possession of the ball with some fine strong tackles. Jett Herbert scored all five trys for the Dragons and put in a big all round effort for his team running fast and tackling well. Excellent tackling also by Craig Yaxley and Patrick O’Grady, some fine runs made by Will Sparks and Tom Wiles, good ball play by Will Campbell-Jones and overall a club home game to be proud of for the Eumundi Dragons Under 9s.
