One big, happy radio community

By Hollie Harris

AS a community station, Noosa FM supports local people, events, charities, clubs and associations. Outside broadcasts during the year highlight various occasions such as the Noosa Show or music festivals, bringing Noosa FM and their members out to meet the people who support them.
Noosa FM is manned solely by volunteers not all behind the microphone but many behind the scenes making sure that the station runs smoothly and that they keep broadcasting 24/7 without a hitch.
It really is the contribution from the people who have made the station a success. From the humble beginnings with the very first member, Barry Charles and his wife, NOOSA FM has grown exponentially.
Noosa 101.3 FM is a very sociable environment – some members have been with the station for all 21 years – which goes to prove it is a happy place to work and form lasting friendships.
New members wishing to support the station are always welcome, and there are periodical intakes of trainees who wish to learn to be presenters: they may be youngsters, or mature individuals, even retirees – Noosa FM knows no age limits.
